‚`F We offer preliminary education courses in Toyo Language School(Tokyo) and Osaka College of High Technology,(Osaka) in which students learn elementary Japanese. As for those who enter one of the Jikei Group technical colleges, the International Student Center provides support with their language studies.
‚pF After I graduate a technical college, can I transfer to university?
‚`F Yes. Toyo Language School and Osaka College of High Technology have a system that allows students to transfer to universities or graduate schools in Japan. Other technical colleges in the Jikei Group also allow students to transfer to advanced education under the following conditions: they must have completed the over 1,700 hours' class time in a period of two years or more and pass the examination for university entrance.
‚pF What are technical colleges?
‚`F They are private educational institutions that aim to train students to have the skills and abilities needed by society and industry. In 1975, the standard for founding technical colleges was issued under the School Education Law. This standard defines technical colleges as schools that provide over 800 hours' class time in a period of two years or more and have not less than 40 students. Admission may be approved under either of the following conditions: a) applicants have completed less than 12 years of full-time education in other countries and have attended APJLE(Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education) recognized language schools in Japan for over six months. b) applicants have passed level 1 or 2 of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test).
‚pF Is it possible to find employment in Japan?
‚`F Yes. Students with specialist degrees who apply for jobs that match their majors at technical colleges can get working visas and do salaried work in Japan.
‚pF What are specialist degrees?
‚`F They are titles conferred on those who achieve skills, abilities and knowledge. Students who graduate from technical schools regulated by the School Education Law are given specialist degrees.

‚`F Our International Student Center is available, where caring staff members with experience of studying overseas willlend a sympathetic ear to your problem and help you solve it.
‚pF Is it possible to receive a scholarship?
‚`F Yes. Those in need who have excellent grades and meet the required class attendance can obtain scholarships for privately-financed overseas students, from the Association of International Education (AIEJ), Japan with the endorsement of schools. There is also a subsidy system run by AIEJ which covers studentsΥ medical expenses.
