Three reasons for choosing technical colleges are: acquiring specialized skills, obtaining qualifications and preparing for careers
Technical colleges in Japan have some unique characteristics that are not found in those of Europe and the United States. They are private institutions that target high school graduates and respond promptly to the changing demands of industry by keeping their educational programs and facilities up-to-date. Thus, these colleges in Japan offer what universities and junior colleges lack: flexibility, innovation and practical education. The distinctive features of the technical colleges are a reflection of three reasons students have for choosing the colleges : acquiring specialized skills, obtaining qualifications and preparing for careers
