| กThe Osaka-based Jikei Group West unites its chains of schools |
Based on the idea of "international education",
the Jikei Group West aims to have students learn and understand
foreign cultures and customs as well as respect and develop
Japanese culture. The overseas training provided by each school
of the group every year is now changing from the conventional
"passive training" to the "active training"
in presentation skills", where students present papers
on the results of their studies in Japan. The Jikei Group West
also promotes academic exchange and lecturer exchange with schools
in China and the United States, including overseas training,
joint seminars, and lectures.

Introducing Japanese Culture
As a part of the overseas training, we held a าJapanese Cultural Festivalำ at Spokane Falls Community College, one of our partnership colleges.
This fair was very popular with the college and the people of the community.
New Joint Medical Department with American Colleges
In cooperation with Shoreline Community College and Spokane Community College in Washington State, U.S.A., the Osaka Jikei Group is planning to establish a Chinese Sports Medical Department run jointly with Koushuchu Medical College in China.
Students and Lecturers Exchange
As of February 2001, lecturers from Koushuchu Medical College and Kanton Igakuinn will be making stays at the Osaka Jikei Group to study the system of medical colleges in Japan for one year. Lecturers from the Nursing Department of Shoreline Community College are going to visit Japan for three weeks in April 2001 to give special lectures and to discuss nursing education with the lecturers from Osaka College of Health and Welfare.
Inviting Orthopedic Shoemakers
In the shoe-fitter programs of our colleges, "shoe masters"
are invited from Austria to instruct students in the best techniques
of making orthopedic shoes. We have also invited the principal
of a าmasterำ training school in Germany in 2000 to offer a
one-month special training course.

Works with our departments of nursing welfare, medical welfare
and sports science.
Shoreline Community College
Works with our departments of nursing care, mental health welfare
and clinical examination technology.

Works with our department of medical welfare psychology.
Paloma College
Works with our departments of health welfare and social welfare.
San Diego Mesa College
Works with our department of sports science.
New Zealand International
Technical and Agricultural College
Our biotechnology and pet business departments are planning a three-week training program at New Zealand International Technical and Agricultural College.
North Seattle Community
College
The paramedic Department will be training here as an affiliate school in May 2001.
Glemdale Community College
We are planning a lecture on the latest developments in emergency medical care in the U.S. in May 2001.
