Academy was founded and opened to produce skilled paramedical
staff. (It was renamed Osaka College of Medical Technology.)
Tokyo Pharmacology College was opened. It was founded to produce skilled paramedical staff in the Tokyo area as a sister school of our Osaka school. (It was renamed Tokyo College of Medico-Pharmaco Technology.)
Toyo Dental Technician School became a member of Jikei
Group. The Dental technician training school became a
sister school of our Shin-Osaka School. |
National medical expenses rose above ten trillion yen.
The Geriatric Health Law was enacted.
Elderly people over seventy years of age accounted for more than twenty percent of the population.

Osaka School of Music was opened. That was the first time in Osaka that a school was founded to produce professional musicians to work in the actual music industry. |
The Social Welfare Worker Law and the Care Worker Law were enacted.
Rules for training-facilities were established (for social welfare workers, care workers and vocational skill development).

Tokyo Communication Arts was opened. It was founded as a sister school of Osaka School of Music and Osaka Communication Arts, with the aim of producing skilled professionals who could take an active role in the design or music industries.
Jikei Inc. was founded. It was founded for the overall management of all the schools, such as financial accounting of Jikei Group, travel planning for students, and sales of educational materials.
Brain Staff Consultants Inc. was founded. Its purpose is to strengthen the computer network and education of our group.
Tokyo College of Welfare was opened. It was founded to produce skilled professional staff in the field of welfare for the aging society. |
Students going to technical colleges outnumbered those going to junior colleges and have continued to do so since then. |

"Basic Direction for Future Child Rearing Support Measures (Angel Plan)" was formed in December 1994, according to agreement by the four Ministers of Education, Health and Welfare, Labor and Construction. This plan aimed to allow the society as a whole to endeavor to support child rearing in a comprehensive and systematic manner. |
