JESC

For the improvement of school management and educational skills
Jikei Education Science Center (JESC) aims at developing a new type of educational system to meet the needs of the next generation and improving the quality of its teaching staff.

In the 21st Century, the Japanese industry is expected to see tremendous changes in its structure. With the collapse of academically-oriented society and the lifetime employment system and the change to meritocracy, it is the duty of Japanese technical colleges to do two things in collaboration with industry: to satisfy the needs of society: first, to educate students to be more caring, inventive and active so that they can be useful soon after their graduation; secondly, to provide lifelong education that is suitable for social changes. The policies of technical colleges must match the needs of industry, providing information and state-of-the-art technology in each field. To achieve this, JESC aims to establish an educational system addressing multimedia and accumulate experience in education, improving the quality of its teaching staff and instructors.

Jikei Education Science Center plans to be engaged in a variety of activities, including:
Gathering, managing and utilizing information on education
Developing and introducing better teaching methods and techniques
Examining the curriculums of each school(by teaching staff)
Preparing and introducing programs of lifelong education
Developing and publishing teaching material
Training teachers, instructors and staff members
Developing systems for intercultural education
Issuing newsletters of Jikei Science Center
Developing educational systems through multimedia
Compiling research projects in the final year and reports on events
Making various interchangeable curriculums for different schools
Management of the Jikei Education and Science Academic Conference

From the Director
It is the duty of technical colleges to educate students to have the skills and abilities as needed by changes in society and industrial structure, to improve the abilities of working persons, and to provide lifelong education that helps senior citizens feel that life is worth living.

At technical colleges, every student should be educated to be caring, inventive, active and global to contribute to establishing a generous and intellectual society. To achieve this, technical colleges themselves must change and develop to keep up with the times. Therefore, it is our mission to improve the quality of the teaching staff. Under the initiative of Jikei Education Science Center, all the teaching staff continue to work hard through training and participation in their own academic conferences to acquire and increase knowledge of educational skills (especially using multimedia) and develop unique teaching methods.
